Professional prepaid courier service terms.

1. Prepaid Service

All standard deliveries and third-party purchase requests must be prepaid before dispatch unless a company account has been approved by admin for Net 14 or Net 30 billing.

2. Service Fees Are Earned Once Dispatched

When Hants County Express is requested to travel to a pickup or delivery location, a service call has been initiated. The delivery/service fee becomes earned once the driver has been dispatched.

3. Non-Refundable Service Call Situations

• The item is no longer available.
• The seller cancels or fails to appear.
• The order or item is not ready for pickup.
• The item is not as described by a third party.
• The customer changes their mind after dispatch.
• Incorrect pickup or delivery information is provided.
• The recipient is unavailable.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Customer cancellation/refund may only be requested before a driver accepts or starts the delivery. Once a driver accepts, starts driving, uploads proof, or begins active delivery work, the order can no longer be cancelled through the customer cancellation button.

5. Waiting Time

Customers and third-party sellers receive a 15-minute grace period upon driver arrival. After 15 minutes, waiting time may be charged at $20 per additional 15-minute period or portion thereof.

6. Standard Service Limits

• Maximum declared item value: $100 CAD.
• Maximum dimensions: 3 ft × 3 ft.
• Maximum weight: 50 lbs.
• Items exceeding these limits require prior approval and a custom quote.

7. Proof Photos and Tracking

Pickup, additional stop, and drop-off proof photos may be uploaded by admin or drivers and shown to the customer. Live GPS tracking is only active while the assigned driver has enabled live tracking for an active delivery.

8. Third-Party Purchases and Marketplace Pickups

Hants County Express is not responsible for the actions, availability, condition, quality, or accuracy of items offered by third-party sellers. If we are asked to purchase or pick up an item on behalf of a customer, the item cost and delivery fee must be prepaid before the pickup attempt.

9. Coupons and Promotions

Coupons must be applied before payment. A coupon may reduce what the customer pays, but the delivery still has a normal service value for internal accounting, driver commissions, and coupon expense reporting.

10. Service Area

Primary service areas include Mount Uniacke, Elmsdale, Windsor, Lower Sackville, Halifax, Ardoise, Hants County, and nearby Nova Scotia towns. Special routes or items outside the standard area may require a custom quote.
